Dog Training
If you've reached this page, it means you've taken a huge step in helping your dog live a harmonious life with its family and within its environment. We are thrilled to have you here!
Bark at the Moon is proud to promote a positive reinforcement, science-based education for your pup and you! Erica is a graduate of the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior and Chaz is a current student of the same school. We couldn't be more excited to show you how it all works.
Why positive reinforcement?
By using positive reinforcement, avoiding the use of intimidation, physical punishment and fear, I can help dog guardians communicate with their dogs. I will also focus on strengthening your bond with your dog, managing the environment so your dog cannot repeat undesirable behaviors, teaching desirable behaviors you'd like to see, and preventing the "wrong" behaviors while encouraging the "right" behaviors. Let's focus on your dog's strengths! Let's turn them into the superhero they were born to be!
What type of behaviors does Bark at the Moon teach?
We work on basic manners (sit, stay, down, et al), leash issues (pulling, lunging), loose leash walking, and mild behavioral issues. (At this time, we will not work with human-aggressive dogs and will refer you out to a network of respected, positive reinforcement trainers in the area.) We strive to provide you and your dog with a foundation for success, the confidence to navigate through every day life, and the tools to handle nearly any situation.
