My story with dogs began in 2014, with the adoption of a senior pit bull type dog named Morticia (“Tish”). She spent over a year in the shelter with little to no interest in her, yet the moment we set our eyes upon each other, sparks flew. Tish was my introduction into pit bull advocacy and the joys of positive reinforcement training. She’s taught me what life is like with a reactive dog and has allowed me each and every day to work with her to create positive associations when she sees other dogs.

Her adoption has inspired me to work with local dog walking services, and to volunteer with various local shelters and rescue organizations over the years, including Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans.

During the pandemic, I enrolled as a student with the Victoria Stilwell Academy, a prominent and highly respected school that teaches everything there is to know about positive reinforcement, fear-free and force-free dog training.

That hard work and knowledge has inspired me to form Bark at the Moon, LLC (and maybe a little bit of love for Ozzy Osbourne). I realized I could marry my goal of becoming a dog trainer with the experience I have as a dog walker and animal caretaker, and with that said, I can’t wait to get to know your best friends.

A Bradley Beach native, Chaz has lived in the area for the vast majority of his life. His only time away from this area was during his time in the US Army, where he served honorably for six years in not only a Signal Battalion but also in a Military Intelligence Battalion for a few years. After his military service, he decided it was time to pursue something that he was genuinely passionate about while making a living for himself at the same time. This lead him to first join Bark at the Moon and then enroll with Victoria Stilwell Academy to become a fear free and positive reinforcement dog trainer and animal care professional. His passion for rescue and treating animals with respect drives him to help you learn the proper way to provide your dog with the best life possible.
